Everything you need to bill and supply, nothing you don't

  • Every brand, one portal

Counters read the way Ricoh, Kyocera, Canon, Konica Minolta, Sharp, Xerox, HP, Brother and Lexmark store them. Other network printers report totals, toner and errors through the standard printer interface.

  • One agent per site

Install the SubClik Agent on a Windows PC that stays on. It finds printers on the networks and VLANs you choose, or by IP address.

  • Errors within a minute

Each printer is checked every minute: paper jams, service calls with the error code (C-2557, J-17, SC542…), doors open, toner low, memory errors, waste box.

  • How often, and for how long

Every problem is recorded with how often it happens and how long the printer was stopped, with jam counts per printer.

  • Toner run-out forecast

Days left per cartridge from each printer's daily toner levels, and a Toner to send list to record what you posted, with an optional email to the customer.

  • Monthly meter readings, ready to bill

Start, end and copies per printer and counter as CSV on the 1st of every month, or straight into your billing system through the API.

  • API & webhooks

Read API with keys, and signed webhooks to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Zapier, Make or your own system for every jam, error code and low toner.

  • Secure networks too

Read only. Outbound HTTPS only. SNMP v1, v2c and SNMPv3 (SHA-2, AES-256). Every customer's data kept apart; data stored in London.

  • Grows into a full service desk

Need jobs, engineers, planning and invoicing? Move to SubClik ServiceDesk with one click; your printers and history stay.

Read more about what the agent reads or download it. Want jobs to open themselves when a printer reports a fault? That is part of automation in the full SubClik service desk.

Questions

Which printers does it read?
Any network printer or copier that answers SNMP, the standard every business printer supports: Konica Minolta, HP, Kyocera, Ricoh, Canon, Xerox, Sharp, Toshiba, Brother, Lexmark, Epson, OKI and the rebadged brands. Brand profiles split mono, colour, A3, copy, print and scan counters where the maker provides them.
Is it safe on my customers' networks?
The agent only reads printers and only connects out to SubClik over HTTPS; nothing connects into the customer's network. It never changes printer settings. SNMPv3 with encryption is supported for secure sites.
What does the customer need?
A Windows computer on the same network as the printers that stays on during the day, and network printers with SNMP enabled (most are by default). The setup asks for administrator rights once.
How quickly do we hear about a jam or an error?
The agent checks every printer once a minute for changes, so a jam, a service code or a door left open shows in the portal within about a minute, and can go straight to Slack or Teams by webhook. Meters are read once a day.
Can I get the readings into my billing system?
Yes: the monthly meter readings email with a CSV file, the same file any time from the portal, or the read API with an API key.
Do I need a contract?
No. Monthly, cancel any time. Pay yearly to get 2 months free.
