How we write these
A comparison written by one of the vendors should be read with care. Here is how we keep ours honest.
Public information only
Every competitor fact comes from the vendor’s own pages or a named source, listed at the bottom of each page.
Dated
Each comparison shows the day we checked it. Software changes, so we say when.
Fair
Each page says where the other option is stronger, and who should choose it.
Correctable
If something is out of date or wrong, tell us and we’ll check and fix it.
Questions to ask any vendor
Whichever system you look at, including ours, these questions show quickly how well it fits copier service work.
- 01Does it read meters from customers’ printers itself, or do we need a separate data collection tool?
- 02Can a printer’s error code open a service job without anyone typing it?
- 03How does click billing handle a reading that looks wrong?
- 04Does the engineer app keep working with no signal?
- 05Which accounting packages does it send invoices to, and do payments come back?
- 06What is the minimum contract length and notice period?
- 07Can we import our customers, sites and machines from a spreadsheet?
