Fix "Not billable — data required" lines

A line is flagged when a meter has no opening reading, no closing reading in the period, or a closing reading lower than the opening one.

Where: Finance › Contract billing › (a run)For Owners, admins

Step by step

  1. Open the draft run and find the shaded lines.
  2. Read the reason: "no opening reading on or before period start", "no closing reading in period" or "closing reading lower than opening reading".
  3. Get the reading: send a meter reading request (Customers & machines › Meters & toner › Ask a customer for readings), ask the engineer, or enter it on the machine page (Open the machine).
  4. If a reading is wrong (lower than before), correct it on the machine's readings.
  5. Back on the run, press Recalculate.
  6. If a closing reading is simply missing, press Use an estimate for (date) on the line, then Recalculate.
  7. If a reading cannot be had (machine removed, meter replaced), use Exclude with a reason instead.

Why not bill £0?

A missing reading is not the same as no copies. SubClik refuses to bill a guess, so nothing is silently lost or overcharged.
