Step by step
- Open Customers & machines › Meters & toner. It opens on the Machines tab.
- Click a tile to filter: Machines, Monitored by an agent, Toner 15% or less, Errors or not seen or No reading for 35+ days.
- Or search (Search machine, serial or customer), choose a customer and a show filter and press Show. Clear resets it.
- Click a machine to open its Meters & readings tab.
- Use the To check tab for held readings and the Requests tab for links sent to customers.
The tabs
Machines: every machine grouped by customer, with Last reading (date and source), Counters, Toner and Status (errors, alerts, last seen). Only this customer next to a customer narrows the list to them.
To check (with the number waiting): readings sent by customers or read from printers that looked wrong and were held. Save or reject each one.
Requests (with the number open): links you sent customers, with status (Waiting, All readings in, Expired or Cancelled).
The toolbar
Ask a customer for readings opens a side panel to make a request link.
Monthly export opens a side panel to download a month's readings as a CSV.
Where readings come from
Engineers on jobs, the office (on the machine page), customers by request link or portal, and printers via the SubClik agent or Box.
The menu shows the number of held readings next to Meters & toner, and the bell lists them as meter readings to check.
Why a reading is held
A reading is held when it is lower than the last one, higher than a later one, unchanged for 14 days or more, dated in the future, or far above the usual volume (about three times the normal daily copies since the last reading, plus a margin). The Why it was held column gives the reason.
Questions
Do readings that look right need checking?
No. They are saved straight away. Only suspicious ones wait under To check.
How long does a request link work?
30 days, without an account. After that it shows as Expired; make a new request.
Is the monthly export sent automatically?
Yes. It is also emailed on the 1st of each month. You can download any month with Monthly export at any time.
Can a customer send readings for just one site?
Yes. Choose the site when you make the request. All sites covers every machine of the customer.
The customer says they sent readings but nothing shows.
Check the To check tab: a suspicious reading waits there instead of going onto the machine.
Where did Meter readings go?
It is now called Meters & toner, under Customers & machines in the menu.
