Step by step
- In the finish steps, go to Meter readings. The top says which machine the readings are for.
- Print the counter page or open the counter screen on the machine.
- Type each counter in its box. Each meter shows the last reading ("Last: 123,456") so you can check yours makes sense.
- Leave a meter empty if you could not read it.
- Tap Next. The readings are saved.
Checks
Readings must be whole numbers. Spaces and commas are ignored (123 456 and 123,456 are fine). Otherwise: "Mono (black): enter a whole number."
If a reading is lower than the last one, a yellow box asks you to check it or explain (for example "meter / board replaced"). You cannot go on without a reason. Your explanation is sent to the office as a note on the job.
Once saved, the meter shows "Recorded on this job: …". The readings also appear under Parts and meters on this job on the job page.
A meter is missing
If the machine was set up without a meter you can see on the counter page, tap + Mono (black), + Colour, + Scans or + Total under "Meter missing on this machine? Add it:". This needs signal; without signal, write the reading in a note to the office.
No Meter readings step?
The job has no machine. If a yellow Which machine is this job for? box shows at the top of the job, choose the machine first.
Tips
- Read the counters from the printed counter list where you can: fewer typing mistakes.
- On monitored machines the agent sends readings by itself, but a reading on a visit is still useful as a check.
Questions
Why are meter readings so important?
Click-charge contracts are billed from them. A wrong reading means a wrong invoice.
The new reading is lower than last time. Is that wrong?
Usually a typo, so check it. If the controller board or the meter was replaced, say so in the reason box.
Can I add readings without signal?
Yes. They are saved on the phone and sent later with the time you took them.
Can I correct a reading I already saved?
Not from the phone. Send the office a note; they can fix readings on the machine.
