On my way, arrived and start work

The status buttons record your travel and labour time and tell the office (and the customer portal) where the job is up to.

Where: Engineer app › Jobs › jobFor engineers, Owners, admins, dispatchers

Step by step

  1. After accepting, tap On my way when you set off. Travel time starts.
  2. When you arrive, tap Arrived: start work. Travel stops and work time starts.
  3. If you arrive but cannot start yet, tap Arrived, starting later. When you begin, tap Start work.
  4. Already at the site when you accept (next door, or the customer called you over)? Tap I'm here: start work straight after accepting.

Rules

The steps go in order: Accepted › On the way › Arrived › Working. You cannot go back a step from the app.

Only one timer runs at a time. Under the buttons you see "Travelling since…" or "Working since…" plus the travel and work totals so far.

Your location is saved with On my way, Arrived and Start work if you allow location access on the phone.

Tapping twice does no harm: the second tap is ignored.

Without signal, each tap is saved on the phone with the real time and sent later in the same order.

Questions

Does the customer see that I am on my way?

The status is visible to the office and, if your firm uses the customer portal, to the customer on their job list.

I went to another job in between. How is the time split?

Each job has its own timers. Start the other job with its own buttons; finish or leave the first one as it is and tell the office.

What is Arrived, starting later for?

When you are on site but waiting (for a key, for the customer, for the machine to be free). Travel stops, but work time does not start until you tap Start work.
