What you see
My jobs lists every open job assigned to you: new (assigned), accepted, on the way, arrived and working. The line under the title says how many are open and how many are new to accept.
Jobs are grouped by day (Today, Tomorrow, later dates, Not planned yet). Every job is the same card: stage and time, customer and job number, what is wrong, the machine model, and at the bottom the priority and any warnings.
The colour of the card's edge is the stage of the job: amber New · accept, light blue Accepted, lavender On my way, green On site. Red only ever means a problem (Overdue, Parts missing, Urgent); orange is high priority. The key is in the menu (☰) under What the colours mean.
The address, serial number, contacts and history are on the job itself: tap the card.
The list is sorted by planned time, then by priority, and it updates by itself when the office assigns, moves or changes a job. You do not need to pull to refresh.
Jobs waiting for parts are not in the list. They sit with the office until the return visit is booked, then they come back to you.
Completed jobs and Mileage are in the menu (☰, top right). A red dot on the menu means today's start mileage is not entered yet.
The tabs at the bottom
Jobs: this list. Calendar: your visits by day, week or month. Messages: chat with the office and the team (a red number shows unread messages). Stock: the parts in your car or van.
At the top you see your name, email and firm. Sign out is top right. If you are also an office user, an Office link takes you back to the office portal.
Works without signal
Your open jobs are saved on the phone, so you can open them and keep working in a basement or a plant room with no signal. Changes are kept on the phone and sent when signal comes back. See "Working offline".
Office users opening the engineer app
If you are signed in as an owner, admin or dispatcher, a yellow note explains that the list only shows jobs assigned to you. To see exactly what an engineer sees, sign in as that engineer on their phone or in a private browser window. One browser holds one signed-in account.
Tips
- Add the app to your home screen (Share › Add to Home Screen on iPhone, menu › Install app on Android) so it opens like a normal app.
- Open the app at the start of the day while you have good signal: your open jobs are saved on the phone for later.
- Accept new jobs straight away so the office knows you have seen them.
Ideas to try
- Ask every engineer to fill in Today's mileage each morning and evening: it gives you business mileage per day without paper logs.
Questions
A job I was told about is not in my list. Why?
It is not assigned to you yet, it was given to another engineer, or it is waiting for parts. Ask the office, or send them a message from the Messages tab.
Do I need to refresh the list?
No. The list updates by itself when the office changes your jobs. Pull down or reopen the app if you have just had no signal.
Where are the jobs I finished?
Menu (☰, top right) › Completed jobs: your last 30. Older jobs are with the office.
Why does a job have a blue border?
It is new and waiting for you to accept it. Open it and tap Accept job.
What does Overdue mean?
The job is past its response or fix time (the SLA the office set). Do it first, or tell the office if you cannot.
Can I see other engineers' jobs?
No. The engineer app only shows jobs assigned to you. The office sees everyone in the planner.
Can I use it on a tablet or laptop?
Yes. It is a web app and works in any modern browser. It is designed for a phone held in one hand.
