Step by step
- Connect GoCardless under Integrations and get the customer to sign a mandate.
- Issue the invoice in pounds. Within a few minutes the Online payment card shows "Direct Debit" and the amount.
- Watch the status: "Collecting on …", then "Submitted to the bank, collected on …", then "Paid".
- When paid, a payment is added under Payments.
When it is collected
On the due date if that is more than five days away, otherwise on the earliest date GoCardless allows.
Only for customers with an active mandate, GBP invoices and amounts of £1 or more.
If a collection fails or is cancelled, the card says so with the reason. Chase the customer and record the payment by hand when it arrives.
