Step by step
- Open the issued invoice.
- In Correct this invoice, type the reason (it is shown on the credit note).
- Click Create credit note. It shows "Crediting…" and opens the new credit note, already issued with its CN number and PDF.
- Email the credit note to the customer with Email PDF.
- If needed, go to Finance › Invoices and invoice the jobs again with the right prices.
What happens
The credit note copies every line with negative quantities, so it cancels the whole invoice.
The invoice shows Credited and links to the credit note.
Its jobs go back to reviewed (unless they are on another issued invoice) and their items can be invoiced again.
If the customer already paid, the invoice shows Owed to client: refund them outside SubClik.
Rules
Credits are always in full. For a partial refund, credit the invoice and issue a new one for the correct amount.
"only an issued invoice can be credited" and "this invoice already has a credit note" (only one per invoice).
A reason is required and is written to the audit log.
