Connect Stripe (card payments)

Give each issued invoice a card payment link (with Apple Pay and Google Pay), paid into your own Stripe account and marked paid here.

Where: Administration › Integrations › Getting paid tab › Stripe — card paymentsFor Owners, admins

Step by step

  1. Sign in to your Stripe account at dashboard.stripe.com (create one first if you have none).
  2. Open Developers › API keys.
  3. Safest: press Create restricted key, name it SubClik and give Write access to Prices, Payment Links and Checkout Sessions (leave the rest as None). Or reveal the Secret key.
  4. Copy the key (it starts with rk_live_ or sk_live_).
  5. In SubClik open Administration › Integrations, tab Getting paid, paste it into Stripe secret key or restricted key and press Connect.
  6. It is checked with Stripe and stored encrypted. You see "Stripe connected".

How it works

Each issued invoice gets a card payment link while Make a card payment link for each issued invoice is ticked.

The customer pays from the link or from their customer portal; the invoice is marked paid here.

The link switches off when the invoice is paid another way.

Messages

"That does not look like a Stripe secret key (sk_live_… or a restricted key rk_live_…)."

"The key needs write access to Payment links, Prices and Checkout sessions."

"Stripe refused that key."

Tips

  • Test mode keys (sk_test_, rk_test_) work the same way with Stripe's test cards.

Questions

Who pays the card fees?

Stripe charges its fees to your Stripe account, as usual. SubClik adds nothing.

Can customers pay in the portal?

Yes. Unpaid invoices show a Pay by card link in the customer portal when Stripe is connected.
