Step by step
- Open Jobs & planning › Automation.
- On the card A printer reports a fault, press Set up (or Edit once saved). A side panel opens.
- Tick Turn this automation on.
- Under Which faults, choose what opens a job: Service calls and error codes (e.g. SC542, C-2557), Memory / storage errors, and/or Repeated paper jams: with a number (2–50, default 5) or more in 7 days.
- Under Before an engineer gets it, leave Office approves each job first (recommended) ticked so jobs wait in To approve, or untick it to send them straight out.
- Choose the Priority (Low, Normal, High, Urgent) and a Suggested engineer, or Nobody (the office chooses).
- Press Save. The message says, for example, Saved. New printer faults open a job in To approve on the service desk.
The job it makes
The title is the reason, e.g. Printer reports error SC542: …, Printer reports a memory error … or 6 paper jams in 7 days (last: …).
The fault description adds the make, model, serial and IP and says it was opened automatically by SubClik from the printer's own report. The active contract for that machine is attached when there is one.
With approval on, the job has no engineer and waits in To approve; the suggested engineer is picked for you when approving. With approval off, it goes straight to the suggested engineer, or to Unassigned.
When no job is made
What SubClik did recently (at the bottom of the page) shows each printer fault with a link to the job, or No job and the reason: a job already open for this machine, one already made today, or the rule is off.
Printers not linked to a machine, or hidden, never open jobs.
To switch it off, press Edit, untick Turn this automation on and save (Saved. This automation is off.).
Tips
- Start with service calls only and approval on, then add jams once you trust it.
