Step by step
- Open the draft quote.
- Pick an item from the catalogue picker, or leave it empty and type a description for a free-text line.
- Set Qty. Optionally set Unit (blank means each).
- Leave Price (blank = catalogue) empty to use the catalogue sell price, or type a price.
- If you are VAT registered, change VAT % if this item is not at your default rate.
- Click Add line. The subtotal, VAT and total update.
Rules
A free-text line needs a description and a price: "Describe the item." or "Enter a price." means one is missing.
If you are not VAT registered, every line is at 0% VAT and the VAT column is hidden.
Prices are ex VAT. The Amount column is quantity × price.
Tips
- Add labour as its own line (for example "Labour, 1.5 hours") so the customer sees what is parts and what is time.
