Rules and messages

If VAT registered is ticked without a number you see "Enter the VAT number, or untick VAT registered."

Currency must be a 3-letter code: "Currency must be a 3-letter code, e.g. GBP."

Time zone must be a real time zone name such as Europe/London, otherwise "Time zone is not valid."

Website can be typed without https://; SubClik adds it. A broken address gives "Website is not a valid address."

The postcode is saved in capitals.

What changes

The trading name changes straight away in the menu and on new documents. Invoices already issued keep the details they were issued with.

Distance changes the mileage label (per mile or per km) in Service defaults and on jobs. Time zone is used for every date and time on screen, in emails and in the SLA clock.

If you are VAT registered, Default VAT rate under Invoices is used on new invoice lines.

Tips

  • Use the legal name exactly as it appears at Companies House: it is printed on invoices.

Questions

We have just become VAT registered. What do I change?

Tick VAT registered, enter the number and press Save profile. Then check Default VAT rate under Invoices (usually 20). New invoices then add VAT; issued invoices do not change.

Can I use kilometres?

Yes. Choose Kilometres under Distance. Mileage rates and engineer mileage then use km.
