When you are asked
When your firm has ticked Require two-step sign-in for owners and admins (Settings › Security), every owner and admin is taken to the Two-step sign-in page after their password.
Choose Email me a code (nothing to install) or Use an authenticator app. With email, one code covers that device for 30 days or until you sign out.
You can also set it up yourself before it is required, from the two-step sign-in step of the setup wizard (Set it up now).
Dispatchers and engineers are never asked.
Email code
Press Email me a code. A 6-digit code arrives within a minute (check spam). It works for 10 minutes and only in the browser that asked for it.
Send a new code sends another one; at most 5 an hour.
Apps that work
Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, or the iPhone Passwords app.
Until you enter the code
SubClik shows none of your firm's data until the code is entered.
Questions
I lost my phone.
Press No phone with you? Email me a code instead. To remove the app for good, contact SubClik support.
The code doesn't work.
"That code didn't work. Check the time on your phone and try the newest code." The phone's clock must be set automatically; codes change every 30 seconds.
Do I need it every time?
You are asked each time you sign in, not while you stay signed in.
Can I use text messages instead?
No. Use the email code or an authenticator app.
