Require two-step sign-in for owners and admins

Make every owner and admin of your firm enter a 6-digit code (by email or from an authenticator app) when they sign in, so a leaked password alone cannot open invoices, bank details and every customer.

Where: Administration › Settings › SecurityFor Owners

Step by step

  1. Sign in as an owner and open Administration › Settings › Security.
  2. Tick Require two-step sign-in for owners and admins.
  3. Press Save security. You see "Two-step sign-in is required for owners and admins."
  4. At their next sign-in, each owner and admin is taken to the Two-step sign-in page and chooses Email me a code or Use an authenticator app.

Who is affected

Owners and admins only. Dispatchers and engineers are not affected.

Only an owner can change this. An admin who tries sees "Only an owner can change this."

Until an owner or admin has entered a code, SubClik shows them none of the firm's data.

Turning it off

Untick the box and press Save security: "Two-step sign-in is no longer required." People who have set up an app keep it.

Tips

  • Set it up for yourself first (see the two-step sign-in article), then turn on the requirement for everyone.

Questions

What do I need?

Nothing to install: the code can come by email. An authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or the iPhone Passwords app) also works.

An admin lost their phone.

They choose No phone with you? Email me a code instead on the sign-in page. To remove the app for good, contact SubClik support.
