Upload parts from a file

Add or update many parts and consumables at once from a CSV, such as your supplier's price list.

Where: Parts & vans › Parts & services › Upload from fileFor Owners, admins, dispatchers

Step by step

  1. Save your list as CSV, with the column names in the first row.
  2. Go to Parts & vans › Parts & services and press Upload from file at the top right.
  3. Choose the file and press Upload. You see "… added, … updated by SKU."

Columns

name (required), sku, kind (part or consumable), unit (each, pack, box, hour, mile, km, visit), sell_price, manufacturer_part_number, compatible_models, category, manufacturer.

Rows whose SKU already exists update that item; new SKUs (or rows without a SKU) are added. Nothing is deleted. Services must be added with the form.

Errors

The whole file is refused if a row has a problem, with the row number: "name is empty", "kind must be part or consumable (add services in the form)", "unit … is not valid", "price … is not a number". Also "The file contains the same SKU more than once." and "The file must be smaller than 1 MB." Up to 2,000 rows are read.

Tips

  • Give every row a SKU: then you can re-upload the same list later to update prices without making duplicates.
