- Find the printer's IP address (on its network settings page or the configuration print-out).
- In SubClik Agent open Printers.
- Type the address, e.g.
192.168.1.50, and the SNMP community if it is notpublic. - Press Test. If it answers, you see the make, model, serial and status.
- Press Add to scan list. The message says Added. It is read on every scan from now on.
Tips
- If Test fails, check the printer is on, that SNMP is switched on in its settings and that this PC can reach it (another VLAN may be blocked).
Works together with
- The SubClik Agent window on the customer's PCThe Agent's own window on the customer's computer shows what it found and lets you pair it, choose networks, add printers by address and read its log.
- Agent settings: name, networks, communities, read timeChange an agent's name, extra network ranges, SNMP communities, the hour of the daily meter read and how often status is checked, from the office.
- SNMPv3 users for secure networksWhen the customer's IT has turned off SNMP v1/v2c on the printers, enter the SNMPv3 users set on the printers so the agent or Box can still read them.
