Step by step
- Open the job and click the History tab.
- Type in Add a note and press Add.
What is listed
“Call logged”, “Assigned to <name>”, “Engineer removed”, “Rejected by engineer”, each status change (“Status: On site”) and notes, with any reason in quotes.
Each line shows the time and the person. When the office recorded something on behalf of an engineer it says “by <office person> on behalf of <engineer>”.
If something was entered later than it happened (for example an offline phone or the office recording a visit), it also shows “recorded <time>”.
Notes
Notes are kept with the job and show in Activity. They cannot be edited or deleted, so they are a reliable record.
For a conversation with the engineer use Job chat instead.
