Rules
A reason is always required (“a reason is required”).
The end must be after the start (“end must be after start”), and the start cannot be in the future.
Time of an invoiced or cancelled job cannot be changed.
A timer still running shows Running in the End column.
Office corrections also make older changes still waiting on the engineer's phone out of date, so they are not applied over yours (see “Changes from the engineer's phone that were not applied”).
Where it counts
The Travel, Labour and Distance totals at the top of the card, the charges, the job sheet and reports all use these entries.
Works together with
- Charges & approval on a jobSee what the job will bill before you invoice it: call-out, labour, travel, mileage, parts and access, what is covered by a contract or a free callback, the client's cost limit and quotes.
- Add or remove mileage on a jobAdd the distance an engineer drove for a job, or remove a wrong entry. Mileage can be charged to the client.
- Changes from the engineer's phone that were not appliedIf an engineer saved something offline and the office changed the job in the meantime, the older phone change is not applied over your newer record. It is listed on the job for you to check.
- Audit log: who changed whatA permanent record of important changes: team access, settings, bank details, job rates, contract billing, integrations, API keys, printer agents and payments brought in automatically. Entries cannot be edited or deleted.
- Complete a visit on behalf of the engineerWhen an engineer could not use the app (broken phone, no signal, forgot), the office records the whole visit in one step: real times, work done, checklist, readings and the outcome.
