Log a job a firm sent us

Another dealer or service firm asks us to fix a machine at their customer's premises. They pay us at the rates agreed with them; we never invoice their customer.

Where: Log a call › 1 Customer and machineFor Owners, admins, dispatchers

Step by step

  1. On Log a call, in 1 Customer and machine, choose the Customer (whose premises), the Site and the Machine. Machines we service for a firm show “· for <firm>”.
  2. If the machine is serviced for a firm, the note “<firm> pays for this job” appears: nothing else to choose.
  3. If the machine is not in SubClik yet, or the job has no machine, press Another firm asked us to do it? and choose the firm in Who pays for this job?.
  4. Type the <firm> job reference (their call number).
  5. Fill in the job type and fault in 2 The job, dispatch in 3 Dispatch, and press Log the call.

The machine decides

Each machine says who we service it for (Who do we service it for? on the machine): Us (our customer or our stock), or For <firm> (they pay). Every job on a firm's machine is their job, however it was logged: in the office, from a QR label, from the portal or by planned maintenance.

A customer can have machines of both kinds: a school with its own machine on our contract and a leased machine we service for the dealer.

What is different

The job shows For <firm> on the job page and the firm name on the board.

The firm's rates, SLA response time and cost limit apply. Rates are saved on the job when it is logged, so later rate changes do not change it.

The job sheet email also goes to the firm's billing email.

Contracts do not apply to jobs for a firm.

Questions

The firm's customer is not in the list.

Add the customer with its site address (Customers & machines › Customers › + Add company), or use Add a machine for <firm> on the firm's page, then log the job.

Can I change the reference later?

Yes, in the job reference field on the job page (Overview tab), then Save changes.

We give this job to a subcontractor. Is that the same?

No. Who pays and who does the work are separate. Choose the subcontractor as the Engineer; see “Subcontractors: work we give out”.
