Step by step
- Open the freelance job. Client rates on this job shows how the rates were set and minutes worked and charged.
- Click Confirm rates (if the rate is unverified) or Change rates.
- Check or change Call-out, Labour / h, Travel / h and Per mile (or km).
- Type a reason (kept in the audit log).
- Press Save rates. You see “Rates changed and recorded in the audit log.”
Why rates are kept on the job
Rates are agreed when the call is logged. Changing the client's rates later does not change jobs already logged, so old jobs are invoiced at the price that applied.
Historical rate unverified: the job was logged before rates were recorded on jobs, so today's rates are shown. It must be confirmed before invoicing (“confirm the rates on job #… first”).
Rules
Only owners and admins, always with a reason. Rates cannot be negative, and rates of an invoiced or cancelled job cannot be changed.
