Step by step
- In the finish steps, describe what you did and record parts used and meters as normal.
- On Does the machine need anything else?, tap Yes, needs parts.
- Search the whole parts catalogue (not only your van) and tap Add needed part for each part needed.
- Can't find it? Describe it in Can't find it? Describe what is needed (for example drum unit and part number). The office will source it.
- Tap Next. The last screen, Send to the office, sums up what will be ordered.
- Tap Send to office.
What happens
The job goes to the office as Parts required and leaves your list. Your work notes, parts used and meter readings are saved. No customer signature is taken at this point.
Parts marked "To order" are not taken from your van stock.
When the parts arrive the office books the return visit and the job comes back to your list. On the job you see "Waiting for parts. The office will book the return visit and it will come back to your list." until then.
Without signal it is saved on the phone and the job page says "Sent to the office: parts required. It reaches the office as soon as there is signal."
Questions
Do I need to add the part or is a description enough?
Either. Picking it from the catalogue is best (the office can order straight away). A description works when you do not know the exact item.
Does the customer sign?
No, not on a parts-required visit. They sign when the job is completed on the return visit.
Will it come back to me?
Usually, yes. The office decides who does the return visit.
